To prepare for this growth, Nestwork required a unified, user-friendly reporting system to monitor key business metrics, improve operational visibility, and support strategic planning.

Nestwork previously attempted to build a reporting solution using Snowflake, Airflow, and Preset. However, the setup was complex, hard to maintain, and lacked the agility they needed.

This fragmented system prevented real-time performance tracking and slowed decision-making, creating friction in both current operations and future expansion plans.

Databricks Solution

The initial phase was completed in 2 months. We worked closely with the CEO, who defined the key metrics, ensuring the dashboards aligned with strategic priorities. The system is now live, with expansion to new data sources underway.

We implemented a full-stack data and reporting solution using Databricks on Azure. Key components included:

Ingestion: Membership and order data from the operational MariaDB is incrementally ingested into Delta Lake
Data Warehousing: A robust medallion architecture ensures scalable storage, transformation, and aggregation
Dashboarding: Clean, always-up-to-date executive dashboards built in Databricks SQL, tailored to Nestwork’s decision-making needs
CI/CD & Governance:
- Fully version-controlled via Git, enabling smooth deployment across environments
- Integrated with Unity Catalog for secure, role-based access control across locations
