Ivan Angelinin

Ivan Angelinin is the CTO of Cosmos Thrace. He grew up in Bansko, a small mountain town in southwest Bulgaria, before moving abroad to study and work in technology. His path took him through Scotland and Switzerland, where he specialised in practical AI and machine learning, and then to one of Ireland's leading software companies, before returning home to join Cosmos Thrace, where he now leads the technical organisation. Inside the company he is described as the backbone of the team. Externally, he is increasingly the public technical voice for Cosmos Thrace's positioning around Databricks, Unity Catalog, Medallion architecture, and the broader Data and AI agenda.

As CTO, Ivan owns the firm's technical direction, sets the standard for how engagements are scoped and delivered, and runs the internal ML curriculum that keeps the team current on Databricks and the wider Data and AI ecosystem. He is technical, direct, and known for being straight to the point, but his public commentary tends to do something different: it reframes engineering work in commercial terms. The pattern is captured in a line he is often quoted on: "Your Databricks project isn't competing with the old system. It's competing against every other project in the company, fighting for the same budget." That ability to switch between technical and commercial registers in the same conversation is what makes Cosmos Thrace's engineering credible to CTOs and CFOs in the same room.
